Fashion Design Studio/Production Room (Santa Monica )

PART- TIME PERMENANT ASSISTANT; Exclusive design studio is looking for a production room pattern maker and cutter. This positon also includes assisting owner/designer in day to day studio duties: helping with photoshop applications, phones, filing, ordering fabrics, making client appointments and helping the salon and studio stay organized. Very good pattern skills are absolutely necessary. We manipulate flat patterns to fit clientele...no computer patterns are used. Understanding draping, shapes, grading and laying out patterns on silks is required. Good knowledge of silk fabrics and cutting with paper under/over is also mandatory. We design and make formal gowns in silk, cut on the bias. If your pattern skills are at a beginning level, please do not apply.

This position is for 25 hours per week. We do not expect this to increase, so please consider if this works for you before applying.
